Opium Wars. Emperialism in China

This war was one of the very first drug wars and took place in chinait was Known as the Opium War and it also known for the Algo- chinese war. The drug was produced and shipped in from the East indies to china by the British. A lot of people were gettinq adiicted like the chinese got addicted to this drug in the early 1800s. When opium was first introduced to china everything started to get used for diseases like dynestry, cholera, and also diarrhea. when the people started to try the drug they couldnt leave it.

The britisg nduring 1700 discovered that opinum will be mixed with tobacco to be smoked.During the 1800 chinese green tea became popular that everyone started trying it and all the western countrys try it. When the chinese government realized that the bristish merchants weres sellinq the opinum drug to the chinese.

Until 1838 the opium drug was restricted from trade , The emperor wrote a letter to Queen Victoria asking why it was illegal in their country but selling china drugs. The letter unfortunately was never delivered directly to the Queen. Since the chinese warriors thought that the queen never acknowledged the letter than it the warriors thought that it challenged them. Chinese officials destroyed the opium drug and banned english man from china. China was ready to attack the british.

Film Lesson: Mountains Of The Moon

In the movie "Mountain of the moon" it was about dis two europeans named Richard Burtun and John Speke were two explorers looking for the source of the Nile river. They wanted to seach for the river, and they didnt give up until they find it. On their journey they had many problems. They meet africans that had never seen white people before so the Africans gave the European explores a hard time.

Some of the Africans treated the white people really bad. THe Europeans faced death not only from african tribes but from such things as malaria, yellow fever, dirty water, and lack of food. The reason why it strange that the source of the nile river was named after a white british queen because the source of nile river is in a african colony not in british but it should be named after the one that founded it. The source of the nile river which is now named Victoria is the 3rd most largest lake in the world. The advantage that the European explorers had was that they had guns back then it was the most dangerous weapon they used it to keep thgeir enemies away but now in this new world its like nobody cares who has a gun. So that help the European conquer the africans because the only thing the africans had were spears and the Europeans had guns.

Imperialism Project

We did the imperialism project to have and understanding of how it worked. I learned that Europe during this time was in a frenzy to capture land. Also i learned shipping routes were important in trading because without them getting spices would take a long time and would be very expensive. It was shown that Spain basically had complete control of South America except for Brazil which the Portuguese owned. I also saw that England had colonies all over the world. They owned their own places in North America, Africa, and Asia.

Karl Marx and Communism

Marx was born in Trier, Prussia in 1818. He loves to studied so started studying in philosophy at universities in Bonn and Berlin. Communism is a world wide society, there a form of government made by KArl Marx and Fredrick Engels. Communism is a when people should be equal and they should not be trated different. A lot of resources like plants, factories, oil, coal etc should be owned by people. Marx ideas was that workers should be in control of factories and faarms. He wants all the workers in the world to start a revolution. Marx wanted a communism to take over the world, he believe that everybody could make the same amount of money so theres no more poor.

When Karl Marx saw that the workers were force to work 16 hours a day, and they only have 40 minutes for lunch, and even that they only get pay with so little money, thats when Karl Marx thought it wasnt fair, he didnt want to see this happen any more. And so he wanted a change, he believe in that the worker has the power to do the things that they wanted to do.
Karl Marx communism it didint work like he expected. He realize that all the people are working for diferent jobs and they didnt pay them good. Its not fair for people that are working of the factory. Even thought he wants the good for peoplen but everything its not perfect.

Karl Marx and the Industrial Revolution

Karl Marx was born being a Jew.But his father had to convert them into cristians so he could get a job and feed their family. Marx did not believe in god he thought workers were controlled by religion. Karl Marx was a German but all the ideas that he had change all the Russian history. Marx was angry becausen people in Europe treat the workers really bad. The factories in Russia was really harst and the workers had to suffer bad treatment and hunger and other stuff. Marx'sso was getting tired of seing people suffer and he had some ideas that were known as Communism, a word formed for common.

He said that the workers would share wealth in a communist society. Marx wrote that wealth should be distrubute according to their abailities. The ideas of Marx were not used in the communist but the time past and start to accept it. MArx believe that all the workers should control the government but the problem was that the government was to strict. All the workers were used to a hard job. Karl MArx saw the workers as the good guys and he saw the rich bussiness owners as the bad people. So he supposter the workers to start a revolution instead of telling them not to start a revolution. He was on the workers side. Also according to mArx communist had its own seed of destruction.

Nationalism and the Creation of Italy

Nationalism is the belief that ones greatest loyalty should not be a king instead it has to be a nation of people who share a commom culture and history. Modern nationalism and the nation state grew up in the french revolution. Revolutionary leaders and all the french people had an idea of the equality. Before the idea of Nationalism most countries were ruled by whatever kingdom took over so the time pass so there was no real sense of unity between the people or countries. Even if they spoke a different language or had different customs, the territories were bound together under one king or ruler.Nationalism changed Europe. It helped many countries create their own nation and government. One of the European Country that was changed by nationalism is Italy.

Many other foreign countries ruled Italy, and they were tired of it, they didnt want to be told everything they wanted to do things for themselves. There was two different leaders. One idealistic and the other practical. They still unified Italy with their differences. When the nation also had its own independent government, it became a nation-state. The region includes all or part of presentday Greece, Albania, Romania, and Turkey, and the former Yugoslavia..When Italy wanted there independence they had a war of independence. They named there nation and break away from the Austro-Hungarian empire. Then they made a flag for their nation was not part of any other nation or empire. So this is how Italy used nationalism to gain independence.

Simon Bolivar and Latin American Revolutions

Simon Bolivar was born in July 24, 1783. He was born in Caracas, Venezuela. And also his parents die when he was still a child, he had to suffer buit he started to grew up and he started to know the world. The person that look for Bolivar when he was a child gave Bolivar a good education and tutors and then he studied the rest in spain. The turors thought Bolivar a lot of the Enlightenment as well of Greece and Rome.

In 1802 he got married,after that uit passs months and his wife died. So he returned to Spain. Simon bolivar travel to spain to venezuela. In venezuela he started getting famous and all the people knew who he was. After traveling to London, Bolivar came up with the idea to start a Revolution in South America. On his way back to South America, Bolivar stopped in the United States to learn their system of Government. After acquiring knowledge of Government and Independence Bolivar became confident in starting a Revolution in South America.

In South America a county is named after the infamous Simon Bolivar. Bolivia was one of the countries in South America Bolivar helped recieve independence for. Simon Bolivar was called " El libertador"Bolivar gave up a revolutionary army and began a revolution and independance. He lost some battles to the Spanish, but he didnt give up so he had faith and he defeated them and won independence for Venezuela in 1821. Bolivar also helped Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Bolivia and Peru to their independence. Then they concidered Simon Bolivar a heroe. The country of Bolivia in named after him. He is known as the liberator of South America.

John Locke and "The Enlightenment"

John Locke's had a lot of influence on the Enlightenment, he had influence with the government, politics, religion, and what is now called psychology. He said that all his ideas are based on sense experience. John Locke inspired many people of the 1800's , Jhon locked made people believe in themselves many people you wouldnt believe. A lot of them were inspired by his idead many who were known to sign the decleration of independence. Lock did another great work " Concerning Human Understanding".

Locke's ideas on the reasons of nature and limits of government were played in a central role in the American Declaration of Independence and the development of the American Constitution. The word enlightment is a word used from western philosiphy known as cultural life. Thomas Jeferson andn John locked had almost thge same ideas like John Locke. Thomas Jefferson was the most influenced by European. Locke's had a lot of knowledge in Thomas Jefferson's philosophy of science. Lock and Thomas had a lot of ideas for the enlightenment.

Capernicus and the trail of Galileo

The scientific revolution influence alot of people. In many popular mind people associate this revolution with different ways like the natural science and the technological change, There a lot of different series and chanfes in the European thoughts. The scientific revolution did not happen all at one time it began in any set of date. The scientific revolution associate with Galileo.The safer to find the origins of the scientific revolution in the European and some other countries. There was a scientific revolution in the Middle Ages that in many ways came to the scientific revolution and its changes. Europeans had the scientific knowledge to produce microscopes and telescopes, no one though to created them. With ther miscroscope and the telescopes people started to see the world. They started nto search for details and a lot more stuff. Europeans believed that the center of the truth and experience was evrything in God.

Kant’s central idea was that solar system. The Sun is just a normal star in this gigantic universe. It has different way of the foster life.The formation of the solar system has been a mystery since it has been discovered. The solar system began in a cloud of dispersed particles. He thought that the mutual brought attractions of the particles caused them to start moving at the moment the chemical forces kept them bonded together. His model didint count for the planets moving around the Sun in the same direction and in the same plane. The solar system its amazing and its beautiful.

The trial of Galieo its intersting because it has a lot of details. Galileo was born was in 1564. When Galileo was really young he started showing all his scientific skills. In 1633 the trial of Galileo had two worlds that came into a conflict. Galileo's world was of intesresting stuff like of science and humanism and his world of "Scholasticism and absolutism" that gained a lot of power in the Catholic Church. This result help a lot because Galileo endded with liberty. Galileo's was so smart that he discovery of the telescope in 1609. He set the telescope being his garden. The telescope help a lot of people see things in the world, Galileo discovered a lot of stuff.

Scientific Revolution and scientific method

The scientific method is a really interesting because you could prove a lot of stuff like if its true or false. The scientific method has four steps and they are really important, one of them is testing the hypotheses,the second one is Common Mistakes in Applying the Scientific Method.The four step is the theory. The theory is accepted not based on the powers of the experiment, but on the results could have observations and experiments which anyone can reproduce. Most of the times the experiments and the observations are repeated many times.

The scientific method is a process for experimentation that is used to search for observations and answer questions. Scientists use the scientific method to search for cause and a lot of effects of relationships in nature. They design an experiment so that changes to one item to another item.There is a very important stuff and characteristic of a scientific theory or hypothesis which are two different things. A theory must be true. But some other times there are some experiments or discoveries that could prove that the theory its not true. Science is meant for different methods. Scientists use to make discoveries and produce a lot of knowledge.
The knowledge that the scientist produce help the other people understand what is the scientific method. The scientific method is a combination of things and true and false. The scientific method its growing a lot like its taking information from the people senses and its producing statements about the world. The scientific method its really because this world need technology and the scientific method could help a lot.

Observation: I'm doing this experiment of Charles Darwin that his hypotheses was that we came from the monkey and he prove it and he made a lot of observations to prove that his right.

Hypotheses: Darwin Charles was positive about his theory that we came from the monkeys. He was positive that his theory was right.

Conclusion: His conclusion was wrong his theory was wrong because at the end he new that he made a huge mistake saying that we come from the monkeys.But he did everything to prove that he could get it right.

Evolution vs. Creation

Evolution and the theories of evolution are different things. Many people in these world agree with Charles Darwin, he is a great a scientist that discovered a lot of stuff. Accordinq to Charles Darwin he was so sure of wat he was sayinq about the evolution. Charles theory was that our ancestors had change over time. In his theory was that all the cells that the monkeys had was made a chnage in the future. People are completly agree with Charles and some other people just dont fall for the theories of Darwin Charles. Charles Darwin said that human skeleton system change over there geneartions. Every biologist they confirm that the evolution its a fact and they say that the organism are only scientific methods. Charles did everythinq to demostrate that he hes theory was right and he didqnt listen to nobody else, but the time pass and the realize that he made a mistake and all his proves didnt concert with his theory.

Creation is really important and its really interesting at the same time because it talks about God and its creation. God its important to cristians, muslisms, and catholic, etc. God took seven days to make the whole universe. The first day he create day and night, the second day he create the water and he separate them, the third day he made trees and he made to grow every vegetable and fruits in the world. The fourth day he created the sun, moon and the stars. The fifth day he created only fishes. In the six day he said let the water be filled with many kinds of living things and than he said let the air filled with birds. God created every kind of creature monsters fishes snakes birds and other dangerous animals and kind animals. In the six day God saw the world and he knew somethinq was missing so he made the human male and female .
The seven day was for take a rest. A lot of people believe in Jesus Christ that he died for us. creation is very interesting and it has a lot of details because it tells you how the world was created.

My opinion its very simple. Evolution and Creation are to different things and they have different meanings. Evolution its about scientist trying to prove that we come from the animals but creation it makes more sence because God created all the world. Creation makes more sence to me because it ovious that God created us and that we dont come come from no monkeys. Evolution confuse a ot of people teenagers and adults and kids, because sometimes they believe everything what the scientist say and they dont even think that they could be wrong. Creations stays with me not evolution.
